The ILE is generally a "big picture" thinker who tends to speak in broad terms about people and things, often leaving out details they find mundane or uninteresting. They have a keen sense of what captivates them and what doesn't, driving them to constantly seek out novelty and surprises. Typically, the ILE juggles multiple projects and skills, pursuing those they believe have growth potential. While they quickly lose interest in repetitive tasks that lack innovation, they will endure them if they are essential for success in society. A creative thinker, the ILE enjoys sharing their unique and often unconventional perspectives with others, often using strange yet effective analogies to express their ideas. The ILE is always aware of the potential within social, natural, and other systems, identifying areas with the most promise. The ILE uses Ne to notice different factors in surroundings, helping them to see connections that change how they understand everyday life or complex topics.

Introverted Logic (Ti):

ILEs have a strong fascination with understanding how things function and how they interact with one another. When they encounter something new or intriguing, they consider how it might connect with other experiences they've had. ILEs are not shy about sharing their thoughts on societal rules; if a rule doesn’t resonate with them, they may choose to break it or creatively mock it to show their disagreement, rather than trying to change it from within. Unlike those who lead with Ti, they typically don’t propose an alternative rule of their own. The ILE is open to discussing and debating their opinions, often appearing to take them more seriously than they truly do. They only engage with structural frameworks when they perceive an intuitive connection, such as when trying to understand or resolve a problem that interests them. As a result, their thoughts may come across as unstructured.​

The ILE frequently encounters challenges when it comes to motivating themselves to complete tasks that they find uninteresting and tedious, especially when they feel obligated to do merely out of a sense of responsibility. When they are compelled to engage in such work, they become acutely aware of their own lack of discipline and self-control, which can be quite frustrating for them. Consequently, the ILE is much more comfortable and productive when they have the opportunity to work within a flexible schedule. This flexibility allows them the freedom to pursue activities and projects that genuinely capture their interest and enthusiasm at any given moment, enabling them to thrive and remain engaged in their work. The ILE generally can only handle brief bursts of intense activity. They shy away from pushing others into action and dislike those who impose their will, making them resistant to direct commands. Their influence on society typically stems from their deep understanding of how the world operates, rather than from holding a position of material power. For instance, an ILE may prefer to advise someone in a position of authority rather than seek a high-ranking role themselves, only stepping into such a position if absolutely necessary and no one else is available.

Introverted Ethics (Fi):

ILEs are often unstable in maintaining psychological distance and may find it difficult to express attraction. When faced with pressure, they have a remarkable ability to conceal their emotions, often opting to avoid any public examination of their desires. This tendency can lead to a lack of awareness of how others perceive them in the context of their relationships, resulting in fluctuating levels of trust. ILEs typically approach relationships with a degree of skepticism. This skepticism can foster mistrust and a general wariness of others' opinions, which may lead to irrational behaviors stemming from misunderstandings. They place a high value on individuals who can offer reassurance about the nature and status of their relationships, as this helps to alleviate their concerns and fosters a sense of security.

Introverted Sensing (Si):

ILEs often seek help in balancing their inner lives and finding joy in the world around them, beyond just their mental pursuits. They appreciate individuals with strong sensory awareness who can guide them in experiencing a healthy sense of pleasure from their environment. The ILE's tendency to constantly pursue new experiences can lead to them neglecting their physical and psychological well-being. They enjoy pleasant stimuli that allow them to "switch off" their active minds for a while, helping them achieve a balance between mental and physical engagement. Typically, an ILE will engage in short bursts of physical activity to take a break from their interests.

ILEs thrive in lively and animated interactions with others, enjoying the fun and that comes from social engagement. However, when left to their own devices, they often feel a sense of emotional detachment. They doesn't typically take the initiative to create a vibrant atmosphere themselves, but possess a unique ability to arrange situations that increase the likelihood of others stepping up to bring the emotional energy and excitement. When their attempts to foster this engaging environment do not succeed, they experience a sense of dismay, which they may either choose to conceal or express through feelings of frustration and annoyance.​

Although the ILE may appear completely spontaneous to an observer, they often engage in extensive planning for the repercussions of ideas to garner support and bring them to fruition. Consequently, many ILEs find lectures on foresight and planning to be bothersome and unnecessary, as they see no need to revisit what they've already contemplated in their own minds. Focusing too much on potential consequences can diminish the excitement of discovery that comes with their primary function. Instead, they prefer to explore immediate possibilities and consider how to bring those ideas to life, rather than fixating on uncertain outcomes.

The ILE may showcase practical reasoning skills, but uses this ability mainly to advocate for their ideas. They focus more on the potential for creation rather than finding the most efficient method. When necessary, the ILE can provide a practical and realistic solution, but one should expect a sort of unconventionality incorporated. Rather than adhering to traditional rules, the ILE seeks innovative ways to accomplish tasks, which can sometimes be perceived as cutting corners or disregarding established norms. To them, it's more about playfully redefining conventions to demonstrate their unique skills and prove that their approach can be more efficient and practical than traditional methods.​
